More than a “good idea” or personal aspiration, the entire vision of Destiny Church was 32 years in the making. Pastors David’s and Paige’s lifelong walk with God prepared them for this next chapter. From volunteering in a small children’s ministry, to leading as Senior Pastors of a local church, to vast missionary work and training pastors all over the world, David and Paige’s heart for Christ and Community led them to serve the people of Bossier City.

Where Did it All Begin?

“Paige and I have been married for 36 years.  It has been an amazing journey, but in the beginning, it was anything but amazing.  When we were married, she was 21 and I was 23.  Within four months of our marriage, Paige became pregnant with our first child, Dustin.

We were young and selfish. When we would get into a fight, Paige would storm over to her parent's house, which was conveniently right across the street.

I was no saint. We struggled in our marriage for the first two years and almost separated at one point. We tried counseling and went to someone who we thought was a Christian. After a few sessions—and some messed up advice—we realized her values didn’t align with ours, so we naively gave up on counseling altogether. We were discouraged.

Later on, we’d been visiting a friend of the family who lived an hour from us; the one who was responsible for leading Paige's whole family to the Lord years earlier.  He was a very significant influence on all our lives. We starting going to church with him and his wife every Sunday. One Sunday, he said, "you don't have to keep traveling so far to come to church, you know? There is a new Pastor in your town, and he has been there for several months." He knew of him, said he was a great minister, and that we should try it out! We tried many churches in our area before, but we didn't seem to fit.

The bottom line is, we needed a life-giving church where we would experience the presence of God!  

The first time we visited this church, our lives drastically changed. We knew we had entered a life-giving church. In thirty-two years, we have not looked back.

We want the people of South Bossier to encounter the presence of God like we did. We have learned that one encounter with God can change your destiny forever. 

One-touch from God will restore marriages, mend broken hearts, break the chains of addiction, and help people find their God-given destiny.

Looking Ahead

We’ve never done anything like this before, and the entire experience has been a BIG learning curve, but we have a great team, and we are highly blessed and highly favored! So we are stepping up in our calling as we step out in faith — fulfilling our destiny to evangelize, equip, and empower believers around the world.
